Nikethamide is used for: Energy malnutrition, Central respiratory depression, Tranquilizer overdoses

Adult 1.500 g as Single Dose.

Contra Indications

Nikethamide is contraindicated in conditions like Porphyria, Hypersensitivity to any component of product.

Side Effects

Side effects of Nikethamide : The symptomatic adverse reactions produced by Nikethamide are more or less tolerable and if they become severe, they can be treated symptomatically, these include Nausea, Itching, Breathlessness, Paresthesias, Heat sensation.

Mode of Action

Nikethamide is a stimulant which mainly affects the respiratory cycle. Direct stimulation of respiratory center. Reflex stimulation of respiratory center by stimulating chemoceptor of carotid body.
