Epinastine Hydrochloride 0.05% Eye prep
Indications
Epinastine Hydrochloride 0.05% Eye prep is used for:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Adult Dose
Ophthalmic
Allergic conjunctivitis
Adult: Instill 1 drop in affected eye twice daily.
Child Dose
Ophthalmic
Allergic conjunctivitis
Child: >2 yrs: Instill 1 drop in affected eye twice daily.

Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity.
Precautions
Pregnancy, lactation. Contact lenses should be removed prior to use since the formulation may contain benzalkonium chloride. It may be re-inserted after 10 min.
Lactation: Excretion in milk unknown; use with caution

Side effects of Epinastine Hydrochloride 0.05% Eye prep :
Headache; burning sensation, folliculosis, hyperaemia, pruritus; cough, pharyngitis, rhinitis, sinusitis.
Mode of Action
Epinastine is a selective H1-receptor antagonist. It blocks release of histamine from mast cells.
