Indications

Systaflam Gel is used for: Localized painful inflammatory conditions including sprains, strains, bruises, osteoarthritis of peripheral joints, tenosynovitis, myositis, bursitis, sports injuries, low back pain, localized form of soft tissue rheumatism, traumatic inflammation of tendons, muscles & joints. Mild osteoarthritis, periarthropathy, frozen shoulder, cervical spondylitis.

Adult Dose

Topical Adult Approximately one-inch band of gel should be applied to the affected site 3-4 times daily with rubbing till the film disappears.

Contra Indications

Known hypersensitivity to any part of the preparation.

Precautions

For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not apply on damaged skin. Wash hands after use; avoid contact w/ eyes & mucous tunics. Do not apply on big areas of the body, or use for a long time

Pregnancy-Lactation

The safety of this Gel has not been established during pregnancy. There are no well-controlled studies of diclofenac in pregnant women.

Side Effects

Side effects of Diclofenac Diethylamine + Methyl Salicylate + Menthol + Linseed Oil Topical : Usually well tolerated. Extremely low frequency of hypersensitivity reactions. Skin irritation, eg, skin rash, oedema, wheals, papules, scutes, reddening, burning, prickling, itch at the application site may occur.

Mode of Action

Diclofenac Diethylamine is systemically absorbed through the skin; it inhibits the enzyme cyclooxygenase, thus reducing the formation of PGE2. Moreover, it also increases the uptake of Arachidonic acid into the cellular pool. Menthol is a vasodilator. It dilates the blood vessels, produces a feeling of coolness and produces analgesia. Methyl salicylate is a known anti-inflammatory agent. Linseed oil is alfalinoleic acid, which has anti-inflammatory, antioxidant actions, improves blood circulation at place of application.
