Indications
Mirolast Eye Drops is used for:
Allergic conjunctivitis
Adult Dose
Ophthalmic
Prophylaxis of allergic conjunctivitis
Adult: As 0.1% ophthalmic solution: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 4 times daily.
Child Dose
Ophthalmic
Prophylaxis of allergic conjunctivitis
Child: >3 yr: As 0.1% ophthalmic solution: Instill 1-2 drops into the affected eye(s) 4 times daily.

Contra Indications
Contraindicated in patients with previously demonstrated hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this product.
Precautions
Not for treatment of contact lens-related irritation. Contact lens should be removed prior to drug admin and reinserted only at least 10 minutes after application. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children <3 yr. Pregnancy and lactation.

Burning, Dry eyes, Foreign body sensation, Ocular discomfort, Allergy, Bronchitis, Cough, Sneezing, Nasal congestion
Mode of Action
Pemirolast is a mast cell stabiliser that inhibits the in vivo Type I immediate hypersensitivity reaction. It inhibits chemotaxis of eosinophils into the ocular tissue and blocks the release of mediators. It is also reported to prevent calcium influx into mast cells following antigen stimulation. It has also been used in the treatment of chronic asthma and prophylaxis of allergic rhinitis.
